 TES Chorus
The TES Chorus consists of 4th and 5th grade students who enjoy singing and learning about music. Chorus sign-ups are held each August and practice is held once a week after school. Performances throughout the year include evening concerts, school assembly performances and performances in the community. Under the direction of Miss Terra Peterson, the TES Chorus strives for music excellence and promotes the importance of music in our schools.

 Honor Chorus
The music teachers of the Carroll County School System have a long tradition of organizing a countywide Honor Chorus event each year. The Carroll County Elementary Honor Chorus is comprised of 4th and 5th grade students from each of the eleven elementary schools in Carroll County. Every school sends a select number of students to sing in the choir. To be chosen as a representative from Temple Elementary, a student must show exemplary and exceptional musicianship in Chorus and music class. Once chosen, students stay after school with Miss Peterson to learn the music and participate in the Carroll County Elementary Honor Chorus Concert in the Spring.
 Recorder Karate
All 4th grade students at TES learn to play the recorder in music through a program called Recorder Karate. To teach the fundamentals of reading music and playing an instrument, students participate in this program. Recorder Karate is a motivational method of teaching music reading where students learn to play songs and earn coordinating colored belts to tie onto their recorders. Students move through nine songs, or belts – white, yellow, orange, green, purple, blue, red, brown and black – the same colors used in Karate. By the end of the unit, students are able to play new songs and have a wider understanding of music reading concepts that will carry them beyond elementary school.
